Description

The tuxedo jacket evolved as a more casual version of a tailcoat that could be worn to less formal events. Tuxedo jackets are typically made from a barathea wool because of the light luster the fabric gives off when in dim light. The satin lapel is designed to reflect the light, framing the wearers face when socializing. It was only in the last hundred years that design elements like the single-button closure and besom pockets became standardized.
