Frequently Asked Questions
Schedule an appointment with us to design and order your custom garment, or contact us by phone or email to place an order using your existing measurements.
Pricing varies by product. Pricing within products largely depends on whether the item is completely handmade or crafted using sewing machines. From there, we use a fabric tier system that takes into account the luxuriousness and cost of the fabric itself. The design selections, linings and trim, and various design customizations are included in the price.
Initial alterations will be determined by the first fitting and are included in the price.
Due to the hand-made nature of our garments, we do not offer returns or exchanges.
We like to ensure that you’re receiving the best possible product and experience but we also understand that people have different schedules.
A typical appointment is between an hour and an hour and half, although we could be as quick as thirty minutes if your measurements are already on file.
Wear clothing that you believe fits you well. We typically suggest that men wear a dress shirt if possible, and that women wear close fitting clothing. We always suggest you bring the exact, or similar style, shoes that you will wear with your finished garment.
Fittings generally last thirty minutes, during which time you’ll try on your custom clothing, the fit is assessed and, if alterations are needed, the clothing is pinned or temporarily marked for the tailor. From there, the tailoring work is typically completed within two weeks.
Clothing is typically completed within 6–8 weeks. Though delays are uncommon, we encourage clients with weddings or time-sensitive events to plan for at least 8 weeks from consultation to final delivery. This ensures ample time for any finishing touches, shipping considerations, or brief holiday closures.
You will be contacted as soon as your order has arrived at our studio, at which point, we recommend scheduling a fitting at your earliest convenience. Most clients take their pieces home with them after the final fitting, however, we are happy to ship your garment to you if requested.
We take great care to deliver every piece on schedule and to the highest standard.
We are pleased to offer the following domestic shipping options:
- UPS Ground: $22
- UPS 2 Day Air: $38
- UPS Next Day Air: $65
All shipments are carefully packed, and include insurance and signature confirmation to ensure your garment arrives safely. Most custom garments ship in a single-suit mailer box. Larger orders or multiple garments may require upgraded packaging, which may adjust the shipping fee. We will always confirm any changes before shipping.
At this time, we are unable to offer international shipping.
WOOL
Wool is naturally odor-resistant and benefits from gentle care.
- Dry clean only, ideally no more than a few times per year.
- After wear, allow the garment to rest and air out on a wide hanger.
- Use a clothes brush to remove surface dust and maintain the fiber’s natural sheen.
- Avoid high heat and prolonged direct sunlight.
- Store with a cedar block or lavender sachet to deter moths.
Wool recovers beautifully with steam. Refresh between wears instead of dry cleaning.
SILK
Silk is delicate and responds best to minimal handling.
- Dry clean only.
- Avoid perfumes, deodorants, and lotions coming into direct contact with the fabric.
- Never wring or rub if silk becomes damp; blot gently with a clean cloth.
- Store on padded hangers or folded with acid-free tissue to prevent creasing.
- Keep out of direct sunlight, which can weaken fibers and fade color.
COTTON
Cotton is durable but should be treated carefully to preserve construction and shape.
For tailored garments:
- Dry clean only to maintain structure.
For shirts:
- Machine wash cold, delicate cycle or hand wash.
- Hang dry or lay flat. Avoid the dryer whenever possible.
- Light steam to remove wrinkles; avoid scorching with high iron heat.
Note: Custom cotton shirting often responds better to low heat and professional pressing.
PLANT-BASED CELLULOSE
Plant-based cellulose is soft, breathable, and refined, but sensitive when wet.
- Hand wash cold or machine wash on delicate, inside out.
- Use a gentle, enzyme-free detergent.
- Lay flat to dry; modal can stretch if hung while damp.
- Steam lightly; avoid high iron temperatures.
- Dry cleaning is acceptable and prolongs longevity for structured pieces.
HEMP
Hemp is strong, breathable, and becomes softer with time.
- Dry clean recommended.
- Avoid bleach, as it weakens natural fibers.
- Hang dry to prevent shrinkage.
- Warm iron or steam to remove natural creasing.
Note: Hemp blends may behave differently; follow the most delicate fiber in the blend.
VEGAN LEATHER
Our leather is not made from cows, and is therefore water resistant and is easy to care.
- Do not wash. Do not dry clean.
- Spot clean only with a damp cloth; avoid saturating the leather.
- Condition occasionally with a high-quality leather balm.
- Keep away from heat sources and humidity.
- Store on a wide hanger with room to breathe, never in plastic.
- For major stains or refinishing, consult a professional leather specialist.
VEGAN SUEDE
Suede alternative is luxurious, and unlike cow suede, is not as sensitive to moisture.
- Dry clean only
- Use a suede brush to restore the nap and remove dry surface marks.
- Protect with a suede-safe water and stain repellent (optional but recommended).
- Unlike cow suede, there is less need to avoid exposure to rain or prolonged rubbing.
- Store in a breathable dust bag, not plastic.
